Hello, loves! Today, I'd like to talk to you about something a little different, and not really beauty-related. A lot of you have said that you enjoy my chatty lifestyle posts (thank you!), and I'd definitely like to start featuring them more often on my blog. Today, I'd like to talk to you a little bit about the importance of taking time out for yourself, as well as share a few of my favourite tips for creating that perfect, relaxing evening in. I'd also like to thank today's sponsor, Panasonic, for giving me the inspiration for this post. Catching up on your favourite TV show is an essential part of a great evening in, and watching it on one of their beautiful Panasonic 4K TVs will make the experience even better! Panasonic offer a wide range of 4K TVs for any budget (I actually have one at home myself), and I'd wholeheartedly recommend that check them out, lovelies. Hope you enjoy today's post!
I don't know about you, lovelies, but personally I have never been much into going out, partying, etc. Everyone is different, of course; but for me, Friday nights don't get any better than wrapping up in a cosy blanket with a nice cup of tea, and catching up on my favourite TV show. I never used to enjoy being alone, but I grew to appreciate the importance of solitude and enjoying my own company, especially recently. I think it might be linked to having a busy full-time job, more responsibilities and the general stress of daily life, which I'm sure is something that many of you can relate to. Taking time out for yourself is important and good for the soul, and even if you don't always have any exciting plans, you can still make every evening a great one.
The first thing I do whenever I get home from work is take off my makeup and jump straight into my pyjamas. It's a daily ritual, and it kind of marks the transition from a busy work day to a relaxing evening at home. I then like to settle down with a warm cup of my favourite tea, which is a great way to unwind after a busy day. Personally, I really like sweet, comforting teas that taste almost 'dessert-y', like Teapigs' Jelly & Ice Cream or Sweet Cherry. I have also been loving Nescafe's Hazelnut Latte, which basically tastes like melted Nutella (especially if you add a couple of drops of hazelnut syrup to it!). And, if you've had a particularly stressful day, I wholeheartedly recommend a cup of chamomile or melissa tea, which work wonders for anxiety. I've been loving Lipton's Melissa Honey tea, which tastes just like sweet honey and is great for calming nerves.
I will be honest with you, loves - if I'm having a quiet evening in, my aim is to not have to move from my sofa at all! Still, you can treat yourself to some effortless pampering with refreshing face masks and scented body butters. My favourite body butter at the moment (full collection here!) is The Righteous Butter by Soap&Glory, which smells absolutely beautiful and will leave your skin feeling soft and nourished. I've also been obsessed with Korean face masks (you can check out my haul and reviews here!), which are amazing if you just want to sit back and relax, whilst still enjoy some amazing treatment without lifting a finger.
Finally, make sure that you spend your evening doing whatever it is that you want to do. Personally, I like to just completely switch off, away from social media and all the daily 'clutter'; play some games, write blog posts or watch a good TV show (lately, my life has been completely taken over by Love Island, although I still cannot make up my mind on whether I actually like this year's contestants or not!). I have also been into doing some cross-stitching; and whilst some might laugh at it being an 'old lady' hobby (I don't believe that myself), I find it to be incredibly relaxing and rewarding. The key is to just let yourself unwind, block out all the noise and immerse in whatever it is that you truly enjoy doing.
Hope you enjoy today's post, loves! Let me know if you'd like to see more chatty, lifestyle posts like this one. Thank you for all your love and support, as always! x
