Hello there, my lovelies! Spring is just around the corner now, and I decided to celebrate it with a little spring-themed tag! This 'I Heart Spring' tag was originally created by Ingrid Nilsen on YouTube, and it includes all sorts of interesting beauty, fashion and lifestyle related questions. I have really enjoyed reading this tag on other blogs, and thought that it could be a fun way to welcome the upcoming season. Hope you enjoy!
Favourite spring nail polish?
To be honest, I tend to stick to the same sort of nail colours all year round - I love soft pinks, nudes, vibrant reds and dark burgundies. Sometimes, I try to reach for brighter colours during spring and summer, although you could still easily catch me wearing a black nail polish in July! My favourite polishes are from Essie and Ciate - the quality is always top notch, and they offer a wonderful range of shades for any season.
Must have lip colour this spring?
Same as with nail colours, I usually stick to the same kind of lip shades all year round. I love nudes and pinks on the lips, and in spring, I tend to reach for more lip gloss. My favourite spring lipstick is the Dior Addict in Smile - it's a versatile, soft pink shade with an incredibly lightweight and hydrating formula (you can check out my swatches here!). I like to layer it with the matching Dior Addict lip gloss in Princess, which is one of my all-time favourites (full review and swatches here!).
Favourite spring dress?
Believe it or not, I actually don't have one! I recently purged most of my wardrobe in preparation for spring, so I currently have maybe twenty to thirty different clothing items (I had hundreds before!). I had so many old clothes that I hadn't worn in years, but still held onto them for some unknown reason. Last weekend, I went through my entire wardrobe and got rid of everything that I hadn't worn in six months, or longer. It felt surprisingly liberating! My current wardrobe is tiny, but I am planning to update it with some new clothes in the coming weeks, which is really exciting!
I think that all flowers are beautiful, especially in spring
when they’re all blossoming back to life after winter. As for my favourite, I
would probably have to go with a classic rose – I think that white roses
especially are so gorgeous! I also adore orchids - their scent is so sweet and
intoxicating.
Favourite spring accessory?
I have never been much of an accessories gal (I have maybe
five pieces of jewellery total!), but I do have a few bracelets and necklaces
that I enjoy wearing all year round!
What spring trends are you most excited for this year (makeup or fashion)?
To be completely honest, I don’t follow any makeup or
fashion trends, so I am not really aware of what’s popular the moment. A lot of
the modern trends don’t really speak to me, especially when it comes to makeup.
All that heavy contouring, blinding highlights and the ‘Instagram brow’ just
aren’t something that I have ever been interested in (partially because I am so
useless at contouring!). Personally, I am looking forward to brightening up my
wardrobe with some new spring dresses, but I will probably stick to the same
old boring makeup routine!
Favourite spring candle?
To be honest, I usually only burn candles during colder months. There is just something so soothing and relaxing about a burning candle that I typically associate with those cosy autumn and winter evenings. Having said that, I think that the Yankee Candle have some beautiful floral options for spring (for example, cherry blossom) that I'd love to get my hands on!
Favourite body spray or perfume for spring?
Whenever we approach a new season, changing up my perfume wardrobe is one of the things I look forward to the most. Whilst winter is perfect for fragrances that are quite intense, bold and sweet; spring is all about floral, light and refreshing scents. The two perfumes I will be wearing the most are Bombshell by Victoria's Secret, and Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs - these scents are basically spring in a bottle! You can check out my recent spring fragrance recommendations post for more ideas.
What is spring like where you live?
Here in the UK, every season feels more or less the same. There is always a lot of rain, and you can easily get the same weather in the summer as you do in the middle of winter. Having said that, March has been lovely so far and we have been getting a lot of sunshine, which makes me very happy!
There are so many things to love about spring! It’s that
whole feeling of the world waking up, coming back to life after those gloomy
winter months. We get longer days, more sunshine, blossoming flowers and fluffy
ducklings… What’s not to love!
Are you a spring cleaner?
Not really! I am actually a bit of a neat freak all year
round, which probably makes me a little difficult to live with. I’m one of
those weird people who actually enjoy cleaning - there is just something so
relaxing about it, plus it feels like an accomplishment once you’ve done it!
Any plans for spring break or upcoming vacation?
Actually, yes! My boyfriend and I will be going to Portugal at the end of May to celebrate our eight year anniversary. We don't go on holidays very often, but we always make sure to do something special for our anniversary. Last year, we went to Morocco, and this time round it was up to me to pick a destination. Of course, I went for a lovely beach holiday! We will be visiting Alvor on the coast of Algarve. I couldn't be more excited!
I'd like to invite everyone and anyone to join in and do this tag! In particular, I'd love to tag these amazing babes:
