Hey, beauties! It's been a while since my last top body butters post, so I thought it would be fun to do a little update. Body butters are one of those things that I absolutely love, but don't use often enough. I tend to be a little lazy when it comes to my body care routine, and usually go for 'in-shower' moisturizers that are quick and easy to use. Having said that, I still like to indulge myself with body butters from time to time, especially during colder months when my skin is very dry and needs extra hydration. Today, I'd like to share with you a few of my top body butter picks. Hope you enjoy!
GREEN PHARMACY
Green Pharmacy is a relatively small skincare brand, but they offer some amazing and affordable products (not sponsored!). Their body butters are among my favourites because of the fast-absorbing formula and lovely, natural-smelling fragrances. If you don't like heavily-scented skincare products, Green Pharmacy might be a good option for you - their scents are light, delicate, and only last for a couple of hours. These cost £5 each and you can purchase them on Amazon, or at m-shop.eu.
Muscat rose and green tea. This formula is packed with the natural goodness of rose oil and green tea extracts, which supposedly slow down the skin's aging process. The scent is very light and refreshing with a hint of sweet roses, making it my top choice for spring and summer months.
Honey and rooibos. This body butter smells just like a cup of vanilla rooibos tea sweetened with honey, which is actually my favourite drink of all time! The formula is enriched with Vitamin E and honey extracts, which help to nourish the skin, and leave it feeling velvety soft.
Tea tree and green clay. This formula contains tea tree oil and green clay, which help to soften the skin, and leave it feeling firm and hydrated. I recommend using this if you have any stretch marks - I have some on my inner thighs from when I lost a lot of weight, and although this is no miracle product, using it regularly has made them a little less visible.
THE BODY SHOP
The Body Shop body butters need no introduction - they are considered iconic for a reason! Their range of scents is amazing and constantly updated with new releases, so there is something for every season and taste. Personally, I like their fruity butters the most - they always smell delicious and refreshing, leaving the skin feeling hydrated and velvety soft. These are about £14 each, but you can usually find them on sale on the official The Body Shop website.
Vineyard Peach. As a huge fan of anything peachy, I absolute adore this body butter. It's sweet and summery, and it smells just like freshly picked peaches. The fragrance is quite strong and lasts all day, so I often enjoy layering it with a light, fruity perfume.
Frosted Cranberry. This is actually a winter limited edition, but I like using it during summer because of how juicy and refreshing it is. This smells a little tangy and sour, but it's more delicate than the usual The Body Shop butters. It works great when layered with a light, summery perfume.
Early-harvest raspberry. This body butter smells just like raspberry yoghurt - it's sweet, creamy and very fruity. The fragrance is very strong and lasts all day, so you don't even need any extra perfume when using this.
OTHER BRANDS
Luscious Vanilla body butter, Boots (£6.50). I discovered this during my never-ending search for the perfect vanilla body butter. This one smells more like vanilla cream, rather than actual vanilla, but it's still lovely and I enjoy it especially during colder months. It smells warm and inviting, although the formula takes a little while to absorb into the skin.
Chocolate Truffles body butter, Perfecta (£5). This is, hands down, the most delicious body butter ever! It smells just like melted chocolate, Nutella and sweet coconuts all in one. The formula is lightweight and fast-absorbing, leaving the skin feeling soft and hydrated. I highly recommend it if you enjoy sweet fragrances - this body butter will make you smell like a box of chocolates!
The Righteous Butter, Soap and Glory (£10). This is a little more expensive than what I'd normally go for, but I enjoy it as more of a luxurious treat for my skin. The fragrance it sweet and delicate - it reminds me slightly of a scented soap or shampoo. The formula is more creamy than buttery, but it absorbs quickly and leaves the skin feeling soft and nourished.
