50 facts about me tag!

Hey jelly beans! Today, I am really excited to be a doing a '50 facts about me' tag! I always enjoy reading these kind of posts - I think they are a great opportunity to get to know the person behind the blog a little better. The rules of this tag are pretty straightforward. All you have to do is thank the person who tagged you on your blog and social media (if you have an account). You can then nominate a few bloggers for the tag, although that part is optional. I think it's going to be a little difficult to come up with fifty interesting things to say about myself, but I'm willing to give it a shot! I'd like to thank Bombshell Drawer for tagging me - make sure you check out her awesome blog here

1. My actual name is Kinga, but I don't really like it. I use Kay for short!
2. I'm 23 years old.
3. I live in a small town near Bristol, UK. It's a nice, quiet place by the seaside.
4. I was brought up in Poland, and moved to the UK at the age of 15. I don't really miss my home country, although I do have many wonderful memories from my childhood there.
5. As much as I consider myself a 'girly girl', I still like to play video games and seriously can't stand romantic comedies - I find them so cringe-worthy! I'm more into action films and crime thrillers.
6. My hair is naturally black, and I dyed it dark red once. I loved the colour, but it made my hair fall out so I had to stop.
7. My hair is also very curly. I straighten it almost every day!
8. Despite being quite friendly and outgoing online, I'm actually very shy and quiet in real life. I find it hard to meet new people, and I don't really go out all that much. My perfect Friday night involves relaxing at home and binging on films and pizza, rather than partying!
9. I have a massive collection of cuddly toys. Beanie babies are my favourite.
10. I also have a huge collection of perfumes - currently over 160 bottles. Fragrances are my passion and I am a bit of a hoarder. I will definitely do a collection post at some point!

I took this photo during the last trip to my home city (Bydgoszcz, Poland). That was more then five years ago. Ah, the nostalgia!

11. My eyesight is terrible, and I've had to wear eyeglasses since I was eight years old. I upgraded to contact lenses when I was sixteen, and that was one of the best choices I've ever made!
12. My hair is really long at the moment, but I've been afraid to cut it. I really don't trust hairdressers (I had a few terrible experiences).
13. As an early teenager, I used to hate makeup. I'd refuse to wear even the tiniest amount of it for special occasions. For some reason, I thought that wearing makeup made people look fake. Thankfully, I grew out of that mindset pretty quickly and now I happily pile on endless amounts of makeup everyday, haha!
14. My academic life was all over the place. I started off studying Arts and Photography, and after one year i switched to Archaeology and Geology... I then studied Criminology at university, and eventually ended up working in IT.
15. I used to work as a waitress in a really run-down chip shop place. It was horrible!
16. My current job involves creating support content for people that work in call centers. Enough said.
17. My ideal job would be full-time blogging, although I know that's not exactly a realistic goal.
18. Throughout my life, I have been all shapes and sizes. I weighed as much as 176 pounds at my worst point, and 120 pounds at my best.
19. My biggest weight loss was about 44 pounds in six months. The key to my weight loss was cutting out sugar entirely and drinking a lot of pu-erh tea.
20. When I was 16, I went through a bit of an 'emo phase'. Not sure if many of you remember the emo wave in the mid-2000s, but yes, I was part of it.

More nostalgia! The Heligan Gardens, where my boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary four years ago.

21. My 'signature look' during my emo phase was the most embarrassing thing ever. I used to wear A LOT of black eyeshadow, and coat my lips in concealer (yes...) and peachy lip gloss. I thought I had such a natural, nude look going on... Oh my.
22. I have zero fashion sense. I like fashion in general, I'm just terrible at it.
23. Puppies are my favourite thing in the whole world.
24. Unicorns are my second favourite thing in the world.
25. My boyfriend is the most wonderful person I've ever known. He's incredibly supportive of my blogging hobby, and always encourages me whenever I'm low on motivation!
26. My favourite childhood memory is blueberry-picking with my Nan when I was twelve. It was such a fun trip, and my Nan was the sweetest and kindest person in the world. I have so many warm memories of her!
27. My favourite colour is pink (just look at my blog template!), but I'd never wear it. I'm more comfortable wearing darker colours like navy, black and burgundy.
28. My favourite place in the world has to be Rome. Me and my boyfriend went there a few years back, and it was the most wonderful trip ever!
29. My favourite drinks are, in that order - sparkling wine, green tea and Pepsi.
30. My two favourites dishes are my Mum's stuffed cabbage leaves (a little like dolmades), and my Nan's chocolate cherry cake with rum.

When in Rome.. It was the best trip ever! We went there in October and the weather was beautiful.

31. I'm also a pizza addict. I would happily live off Pizza Hut if I could!
32. Trisha Paytas is my guilty pleasure.Yes, she can be very controversial, but I just love and admire her body confidence!
33. My favourite perfume of all time is Elixir Charnel Gourmand Coquin by Guerlain. I have only tried samples, because a full bottle costs more than £200 and you can only purchase it at a Guerlain boutique in Paris!
34. My very first perfume was Wink by Avon. I got it when I was nine years old!
35. My very first makeup item was the setting powder by Collection 2000. I used to really cake it on - it was my primer, concealer and foundation all in one! Not a good makeup routine, haha.
36. My favourite piece of jewellery is a beautiful sapphire necklace I got from my boyfriend last Christmas.
37. I'd love to get a puppy one day soon, I just can't decide on the breed! I'm thinking either a Pomeranian or a Welsh Corgi.
38. I'm extremely allergic to cats and hamsters!
39. My most unrealistic life ambition is to have my own makeup range.
40. My second most unrealistic ambition is to design my own perfume. It would smell of raspberries, cinnamon and marzipan!

Paris 2011... Another wonderful trip with my boyfriend! These are the gardens just outside Versailles.

41. My more realistic life goals include scuba-diving in Australia and getting to hold a baby panda.
42. Blogging is my favourite hobby. I'm glad I've finally found something that makes me feel so happy and fulfilled.
43. I would love to do YouTube one day, but I just can't get over how anxious I am, and how much I hate the sound of my own voice on camera.
44. I actually take all my blog photos on my phone, which may seem surprising for some. I use Photoshop to make them pretty!
45. As much as I love beautiful nail colours, I am far too lazy to do my nails! I paint them maybe once a fortnight.
46. I also don't ever wet my Beauty Blender, which I know is considered a major makeup crime. Honestly though, I hate using it wet! I find it so much easier to work with when it's dry. Please tell me I'm not the only one?
47. Growing up, I always wanted to be a singer. Pretty generic ambition, eh?
48. My very first pet was a little canary bird. I got him when I was five years old!
49. The name of my blog - 'Shoes and Glitter' - doesn't actually mean anything. These were just the first two words that came to my mind when trying to think of a blog name.
50. The main motto I try to live by is a random quote I found on the internet. 'Don't rely on motivation for anything. It's fleeting and unreliable. Discipline, however, is unyielding. Force yourself to follow through.'. Understanding this has helped me achieve so much,
