Get ready with me - Autumn night out makeup

I love watching various 'Get ready with me' videos, but since I haven't branched out into YouTube yet, I thought I'd do a 'Get ready with me' blog post instead. Quite a few of you were curious about the makeup products mentioned in my October favourites tag, so I figured it might be a good idea to show some of them in action. Today's post will feature my go-to makeup routine for a night out, which is all about reds lips and bold, dark eyes. I will be using my all-time favourite eyeshadow palette by Chanel - Les 4 Ombres in Tisse Gabrielle, which so many of you commented on in my last post. Let's get started!

Starting off with a clean and moisturised face, I apply my Benefit Porefessional primer. This is definitely one of the best primers I've ever used, although I don't purchase it that often because of the hefty price tag (I think there are many drugstore alternatives that are just as good). It goes on smoothly, and has a lovely, matte finish - it really gives you that 'your skin but better' kind of feel.

The next step is in my routine is the foundation. I use the Max Factor Miracle Touch Liquid Illusion foundation in Warm Almond, and apply it using my Beauty Blender. I have tried many different foundations throughout the years, but I always keep coming back to this one. It really 'blends in' with my natural skin tone, and gives my skin a smooth, slightly dewy look. The coverage is brilliant and there is no need for me to use any concealer. The Beauty Blender makes the application a lot quicker and easier, and it really helps you to get the most of your foundation. It's my favourite beauty tool at the moment and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to achieve a dewy, airbrushed look.

I finish off by applying the Love At First Blush shimmery blush and the Wonderbronze bronzer by Soap & Glory. I'm completely useless when it comes to contouring, so I only apply a little bit of bronzer on my cheekbones and along the jawline to give my skin that 'healthy glow'. I also fill in my eyebrows using the Archery brow bar by Soap & Glory.

Next, it's time to let the Chanel Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quad work its magic. I don't apply too much of these, because the shades are already very pigmented. I blend the two murky brown shades together (like you would do with a typical smoky eye), and apply the 'white gold' one in the inner corners of my eyes. I also use a little bit of the darkest shade along the upper and lower lash lines, as you would with an eyeliner. It's not a complicated look, and the eyeshadows are very blendable and easy to work with. This quad is one of the best high-end makeup products I've ever purchased, and I honestly can't recommend it enough.

I then finish off by applying three layers of my all-time favourite mascara, Chanel Le Volume in Noir. As far as mascaras go, this is easily the best, most volumising one I've ever tried - it leaves your lashes looking full, thick and clump-free.

Finally, it's time to glam up the lips. I apply my dark berry Yves Saint Laurent solid lipstick (I'm not sure about the official name, as it's part of a palette), and layer it with the L'Oreal Color Riche in Scarlet Creme. The two blend together really well, creating a perfect, intense red shade. Aside from the brilliant pigmentation, the Color Riche lipsticks are creamy and hydrating, and won't dry out your lips. It's definitely my favourite drugstore lipstick range, and I highly recommend checking it out!

I finish off my routine by applying a little bit of the One Heck of a Blot transculent powder by Soap & Glory. I use it all over my face to set the makeup, and give my complexion a matte finish. And that's about it! Let me know if you enjoy these kind of posts, and would like to see more of them. =)
